Extending Our Tradition of Caring
2009-10 Campaign

Inevitably, aging will affect all of us and those we love. If our needs can no longer be met at home, we look for a nursing home that offers the best of care and a safe, comfortable environment. Saint Vincent’s is such a facility.

Saint Vincent’s Nursing Home has been providing excellent, compassionate care since 1966 and that is why so many have responded generously and donated over half a million dollars since fundraising began in 2001. As a result, many projects have been completed to enhance the quality of life and provide a more homelike environment for the residents.

Saint Vincent’s has wisely decided that further renovations are needed to create additional space for residents as sufficient dining rooms and lounges do not exist on all floors. These renovations can only be completed with charitable support from people like you and me because available resources and funding are inadequate.

We are launching a major capital campaign to add 800 sq. ft. to each of the 4th, 5th and 6th floors at the rear of the building, totaling 2,400 sq. ft. While ambitious, this represents the most timely and cost-efficient approach to meet the current and future needs of our residents. The multi-year campaign will need to raise $800,000; however the first step, for phase one in 2009/2010, is a goal of $150,000.

My wife, Harriet, is currently a resident at Saint Vincent’s, with Alzheimer’s disease. I have personally experienced the sense of community and caring that exists here. I hope that you will give your financial support to these renovations and space additions that will assure more enhanced accommodations for you, me and our loved ones.
