Resident ServicesSaint Vincent's Nursing Home is proud to offer a wide variety of resident services which include:
Attending Physician:Medical doctors monitor the health of our residents. Residents may keep their own attending physician provided the doctor is willing to make regular visits. Assistance is available to any resident who does not have a family doctor or who wishes to change physicians.Nursing:Registered Nurses, Licensed Practical Nurses, and Personal Care Workers are on duty 24 hours a day, seven days a week.Physiotherapy:The Physiotherapy Department can provide assessment, treatment, and exercise classes to help residents maintain their independence.Recreation:A variety of leisure activities are provided. Aside from the regularly scheduled leisure programs, the department also offers special events such as dances, musical entertainment, outings, BBQ's and much more.Social Services:A Social Worker is available for consultation with residents and their families. Nutrition Services:Staff are committed to providing high quality food and nutrition services. There are two dietitians on staff who are responsible for the nutritional needs of all the residents at Saint Vincent's. Educational Services:An in-service coordinator is responsible for staff training and development. Various programs of interest are also available to our residents. Pastoral Care:Spiritual support and counseling are provided to residents representing many faith traditions. Clergy of all faiths are encouraged to hold services in the chapel. Pastoral Care is provided by a three member staff, community clergy and/or representative assisted by our pastoral care volunteers. Residents' Council:The Saint Vincent's Residents' Council is an organization to which every resident may belong. The Residents' Council meets monthly to share information and to discuss problems or concerns that residents wish to raise. This is an opportunity for residents to be kept up to date on any activities that are going on within the Nursing Home. Family Council:The Family Council is a volunteer group comprised of six to eight family members and staff members from pastoral care, recreation therapy, nursing and therapeutics. The Council meets monthly and focuses on issues that will enhance the quality of life and service to our residents and their families.
